Three squadrons of Japanese aeroplanes bombed the

Canton Hankow Railway yesterday (January 14th). Raid

lasted from 0840 to 1440, the longest on record. Much

damage was done to tracks particularly at Kwuntin.

Lupao on north river was also bombed.

Repeated to Commander-in-Chief China No. 5, General

Officer Commanding British Troops China No. 5, Governor

Hongkong, Foreign Office No. 5.
